Cultural centre

The Salorges Cultural Centre offers a rich and varied program throughout the year: exhibitions, shows, cultural events.

The Salorges Cultural Centre was built in the town centre, along the harbour side in a former salt warehouse. The centre is a response to the artistic demands of the town and the whole island of Noirmoutier. It hosts concerts, plays, dance performances and much more. The theatre can accommodate up to 395 spectators and is accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Exhibition halls

The Salorges Cultural Centre has atypical exhibition space where several artists show their work each season. Old fashioned picture rails add to the attraction.

The festival of theatre

Established in 1993, the Festival of Noirmoutier-en-l'Ile is held annually during the first three weeks of August. The program is mainly theatrical. Shows and events are hosted on three sites (two in the open air and one indoors). Each year the Festival receives between 5,000 and 6,000 spectators. Patrick Pelloquet and the permanent cast of the Pays de la Loire Regional Theatre provide artistic and administrative responsibility for the Festival.
